I’ve been teasing my team’s latest game project for a while now. Ever since we made “Todd Merchant” I’ve been dropping many, many casual hints (notice a few tweets related to clouds?) on Twitter about who the team is, what our next game is, and while we aren’t fully revealing our new project, we are surely revealing who we are and where you can officially follow us on the web for more hints towards the game.

So who are we?

After many weeks of deciding, and finalizing just a few days ago, we have officially named our team Play Nimbus. It wasn’t easy coming up with a name that not only we liked and enjoyed, but were able to secure across many web platforms (TwitterFacebook) and have a domain for. Lots of names were thrown around, but we ultimately settled on a variation of our original game jam team name, Nimbus, and we all are very happy about the choice.

Who is this “we”?

Play Nimbus is made up primarily two people, myself (Nick!) and Adam (my roommate here at college). We’ve had assistance with our project from a few students around campus however who have offered to do programming, art, or chip in wherever they feel is right. The main two people with Play Nimbus though are myself and my roommate though.

Why Play Nimbus?

It’s a weird, funny story that ultimately leads back to the Boston Indies demo night back in October. After showing off my friends game, Fire Escape, we were walking out to leave and noticed a table full of stickers and buttons, and one of the buttons had “Vote Nimbus” written on it. When it came time for us to choose our name for the Game Jam, Adam had the “Vote Nimbus” button I snagged on and we went with that. The team name has stuck ever since.

So where are your games!? I want to play now!

Patience… Patience… We are very, very hard at work at making our game and balancing our school work at the same time. Remember, we aren’t a company like Microsoft, or EA, or Activision, who has an unlimited amount of people that can be thrown at a project. We’re two students working to create a game in which we believe strongly in and want to make it the best experience ever. We want to promise that you’ve never seen an experience like this before, and for now we are remaining very quiet about the game. You’ll probably see somethings here and there though as the weeks go on and we edge nearer to certain milestones in the process.

Where can I stay up to date with Play Nimbus?

If you’re looking to stay updated with our upcoming game projects, then there’s many places in which you can do so. We have our Twitter (@PlayNimbus) and Facebook (Facebook.com/PlayNimbus) pages setup and ready to tease you of what’s hiding behind the clouds. In addition, PlayNimbus.com will be up in the coming weeks with new information for you to read about the team and maybe a few more hints towards the game.

Be sure to stay up to date, because we aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon. 🙂
